Economic Literacy: Dollars, Sense, & Me
Economic Literacy teaches girls a working knowledge of economic concepts in order to achieve economic independence and take charge of their lives. The program is run for one hour each week over a 14-week period. Fall and spring sessions of both program components are run. Girls learn broad economic concepts as well as personal financial skills such as how to identify and count money, save, invest, budget, take informal financial risks, and prepare for careers. The program also gives girls the opportunity to explore issues that particularly affect women and girls, such as equal pay for equal work.
