Kathleen Burns Preparatory School
The KBPS program offers (1) an academic program that includes small instructional groups (grades 5-12), MCAS preparation, and a comprehensive curriculum aligned with MA Curriculum Frameworks; (2) a clinical program that includes counseling groups (anger management, stress inoculation training, skill streaming, expressive arts, and contemporary concerns of teens), milieu support, individual check-ins, and an adventure based learning program, and (3) a self-advocacy program that focuses on positive change. Students have an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) that is developed by a school district team and specifies the student’s disability and goals and objectives for an educational placement.
